the shadow

there is no
way out if we
continue in
this vein because
no matter which
way you spin it
there's a lot of
motherfucking
baby killers about
and they
are your
superiors
they can
watch you
on your phone
so get rid
of that shit too
discover
how nice it is
to be uncontactable
and private, to be
on
your
own
with no superiors
(there aren't
really any
superiors, they
just assign themselves)
and to be
in
this
world
they have tried to convince you
that your phone is a digital world
It isn't a digital world
it isn't a world at all
it is a screen with words and pictures on it
and sometimes moving images
and lots and lots of advertising
for lots and lots of businesses who
more often than not
contribute financially
to mass exterminations
of human beings
well reject it
it won't make your life harder

the resistance to this shit.
Get all your friends
to turn off their phones too
and live in reality for a while
or forever
and learn to be private
and silent
alone and
with your friends
and if nobody knows
what streets you are
walking down you
will find the world

be a freak
reject brands
hack brands
make unwanted
advertising
for brands you hate
be smart, sassy, svelte
profess love of
all religions and
none of them,
adorn thyself
in exquisite regalia
and stick out
like a sore thumb
and when they
try to look you up
they will not find you
Remember
nothing in this
society is set up
to give you anything,
these brands and
companies are
not your friends,
they are here to
take from you,
only that, and
they know that
you crave the
status their
sweatshop
rags give you
among your
ill-informed peers.
Reject it.
Reject your clothes.
Dress in rags
and scream on the street,
stamp in puddles
and wet the
passing businessmen.
The new Left
have forgotten
that these kind of ideas
are defined by the
struggle against
capitalism
(though I would
define consumerism
as a more definitive
diagnosis of the problem)
In the West they
accept their
material wealth
as God given and
consider themselves
poor on
one
hundred
thousand
pounds per annum
whilst they walk
every day
past women
sleeping in gutters.
They do not have
a cost of living crisis.
They have a cost of lifestyle crisis.
For some
life itself is
a cost of living crisis.
Look outside of your
Shirehorse blinkers
go outside and scream
"This is not acceptable!"
for surely a
society with
homeless folk
can not be called
a civilisation.
Reject it.
Invite the homeless woman
to come and live in
the spare room of
your sumptuous
family home.
The best way we can
defeat the
evil motherfuckers
running our excuse
for a society is
by really surprising them
and being absolutely
lovely to each other
Their world
is the world of the past
remember that
all your rulers
come from the
twentieth century,
and that is their century,
not your century.
This, now, is your century
and it is time
for you
to take it away
from them.
By extension,
I'm middle aged,
so you'll be taking
the century away from me,
which will mean
I will
finally
shut the fuck up.
